What is the difference between inside mounts and outside mounts?

An inside mount is when the blind or shade fits inside (the interior) of the window opening. Mounting as an inside mount generally has a cleaner, neater look and is recommended by our professionals for common usage. An outside mount is when the blind or shade is mounted above and around the window frame. This style can be used if there isn’t enough depth to mount the product inside the opening. Sliding glass doors and wood cased shallow windows are strong cases for using outside mounted blinds.

How quickly will I receive my order?

We strive to make sure you receive your order as quickly as possible. However, due to the fact that all of our products are all custom made, there is a manufacturing timeline associated with every order. Your manufacturing and shipping time is located in your shopping cart.

How is shipping calculated?

Good news! Nearly all products ship for free unless the window exceeds a size standard. Please view our order policies page for more detailed information about shipping policies.

When can I expect my order to be shipped?

Most newly placed orders are held in queue for 24 hours before they’re sent to production (with the exception of orders for products that are made in 1 or 2 days, which are sent directly to the factory at time the orders are placed). This time window allows for any last-minute changes. If necessary, you can bypass the queue hold time by clicking on the link displayed in your order confirmation email. Typically, It usually takes 7-12 business days for most custom orders to arrive after purchase. For example, if you order a product with a production time of 4-5 business days and allow three business days to ship, you can expect your order to arrive within 7-8 business days from the original date you place your order. If you are interested in a more accurate estimate, please refer to our "Shipping Policy" tab located at the bottom of the product page. All of our orders are shipped via DHL ,UPS or FedEx ground. You will receive a confirmation email once your order is our for delivery. From that date, allow 4-5 business days to receive your order.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept the following major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard and American Express. For quick and easy payment we accept Paypal transactions. All of these options are available during check out.

When can I expect my order to go into production?

NationsBlinds.com will send you a confirmation email as well as provide online tracking of your order immediately after your payment confirmation. When your order has shipped, we will provide any necessary tracking number that allows you to view your precise delivery date. You can check the status of your order by logging into your personal NationsBlinds.com account.

Is it possible to cancel my order after I have completed it?

Yes. We provide a 24-hour review period to cancel your order at no charge.

Are there sales tax?

In compliance with state tax laws, we are required to charge state sales tax to all orders.

If I request to order samples, will I lose the special discount due to expiration dates?

No! You can still apply today's sales deal if you want to order samples first. In fact, we strongly encourage that you order free samples prior to placing an order. We do not want you to feel rushed into purchasing something just to get that day's special deal. NationsBlinds.com will honor our best promotional offer (including major holiday sales) and apply it to any product order you place within 30 days from the date you request samples. Simply contact our Customer Care Team via email, and our knowledgeable agents will be happy to apply the discount manually to your order.

Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada?

Free shipping on all products is offered within the contiguous 48 United States and Canada. Unfortunately, we do not ship to Hawaii and Alaska.

Can I edit my cart?

Please click on the shopping bag icon at the top of our web page to view your open cart. Click on the "Edit" button just above the name of the product you intend to change. This takes you back to your order form where you can make any necessary edits to your open order. Once you have finished, just click on the orange "Update Changes" button to apply any of your changes.

Can I order replacement parts for my window treatments?

To order any additional parts for a product you have purchased from us, just contact us directly with your order number (If you do not have it, no worries; we'll find it!). Parts under warranty are replaced and shipped to you at no additional charge.

What is the importance of and how do I order free samples?

Besides all samples being free (who doesn't love that?), ordering samples is the best way to "try before you buy," so you know you're getting the right product in the right color, fabric, style, and functionality for your needs. Our free samples are cut from the same cloth (or other material) as the product you intend to order is. You can order up to 7 free samples at a time to see and feel the quality for yourself. We even ship the samples to you for free. To order samples, just click on the "FREE SAMPLE" button under the desired color of the product you're interested in on any product page. Or, click on the FREE SAMPLES tab in the top navigation bar from any page on our site. Can I just measure my old window treatments?

No. Because deductions were taken at the factory on your old custom blinds purchase, you will not get the exact fit you need when you order new ones. Use our how to measure windows guide to make sure you have the precise measurements.

Should I round up or down 1/8" on my window measurements?

Should your window measurements fall between eighths of an inch, round down to the nearest 1/8" for width and round up to the nearest 1/8" for height. Example: Width: 30-1/16" would round down to 30". Height: 30-1/16" would round up to 30-1/8".Please check out our guideline under get a correct measurement link.

What is the differences between 'min flush-mount depth' and 'min inside-mount depth'?

How deep (or shallow) your window is determines whether you should install, or mount, your covering as an inside or outside mount. "Minimum flush-mount depth" is the depth needed to properly mount the product fully into the recess of the window. This means that the product will not protrude from the window opening, so it appears flush with your wall beautifully. The "minimum inside-mount depth" is the total depth of flat mounting space needed to securely install the product inside the window. If your window does not meet the minimum required inside-mount depth, the product cannot be installed as an inside mount. If your window does meet the minimum inside-mount depth but not the minimum flush-mount depth, the product will not be flush with the window opening and wall. Before submitting your order, be sure to check the depth requirements listed in the "Specifications and Installation" chart at the bottom of each product page.

Can someone come out to measure/install for me?

We do not offer measuring and installation services. (That's one of the reasons we can sell our products for far less than other companies that charge for those services!) But do not worry; we are here to help if you need it! If you can hang any picture, you can hang your own window treatments. No matter what your skill level, we have the tech tips, how to measure videos and DIY installation guides you need to measure and install any of our window treatments. (And don't forget about our 'oops' policy; see our Returns.) If you have any questions or need assistance with measuring or installing any of our products, you can always contact us by phone, email, or Live Chat. If you do decide to hire a contractor to measure and/or install your coverings, please allow ample time to receive and ensure your order is correct before they come to install them (just in case there are any errors on either ends). Are your blinds the same quality as major name brands?

Absolutely! Our custom window coverings are of equal or better quality than all of the 'off-the-shelf' mass producers.

What are the differences between inside and outside mount?

An inside mounted window covering attaches to the inside of the window frame so they’ll be flush with the wall. An outside mounted blind, or shade, attaches outside the window opening and extends beyond the wall or door.

Is there any minimum window sill depth for an inside mount?

Yes. Depth requirements are listed on all of our product pages in the "Specifications and Installation" chart at the bottom of the page under Product Information.

How are your motorized products operated?

Motorization and home automation are changing the way window coverings are operated, making it easier and more convenient to control. Many of our products feature motorized headrails with rechargeable batteries that make it possible to lift and lower them without breaking a sweat. Our motorized options include products that can be easily operated with an attached push-button wand, programmable remote controls. 

How do the top down/bottom up shades work?

Cordless top down bottom up coverings function on the same set of route cords attached to dual-action top and the bottom rails. Position your shades wherever you need them by gently pulling down on either rail to lower the shade and pulling up on the rail to raise it. Corded products operate with two strings or cords -- one for the top/down operation and one for the bottom/up. Pull on the cords to raise and lower the shade were you want it. 

Are colors on your product samples accurate?

Due to lighting and the resolution of monitors on different laptop or smartphone screens, colors may vary. Therefore, ordering samples before you buy is the most accurate way to check and make sure you're getting the closest color match possible. In particular, due to minimal variances in wood's natural color, grain, species, etc., there is no way to accurately predict the exact color of our stained wood products. We strongly encourage that you order all of your blinds and shades of color choice at one time. Dye lots frequently change, so there may be slight variations in the same color when your product is received. If it has extended beyond a month or more since you received your samples, we strongly recommend getting another sample of the same color before completing your purchase. And if you're ordering multiple products for the same room, it is recommended that you order all of them at the same time to ensure they are from the same dye lot at the closest match.

Will I receive installation hardware and instructions with all of my products?

Yes. All of our products come with the appropriate manufacturer's installation hardware and instructions. Additional or replacement do it yourself installation guides are readily available online.

Are the colors for your products accurately represented by what is displayed on the website?

We do our best to make sure that the colors displayed on our website are as accurate as possible, actual colors may vary due to subtle color differences and textures that may display differently on some monitors, screens, and/or display cards. The safest route to ensure your satisfaction with your color is to request a sample before placing your order. Samples are free! Once you receive your free sample, keep in mind that all samples could possibly still have minimal color variations as stated by the manufacturers. Are your products first quality? Do you retail any secondhand products?

Unlike other online retailers, we only sell first quality products. Our products are custom and tailored to your specifications. After being manufactured for you they are sent directly to your provided shipping address.

Can I receive a brochure through the mail?

Unfortunately, we do not currently ship catalogues or brochures. We work hard to ensure that we list information for our products on our site, including measuring instructions, installation guides, color charts, and care/warranty information.

Does your site show a preview of your products being hit with sunlight?

When light shines through the blinds it has coined the term “Back Lighting”. Our swatches do not show you the effect of back lighting, which can soften colors and highlight fabric textures. If you are interested in how back lighting affects the color or texture of a particular material, please request a sample from us.

Do you supply all the tools necessary for installation?

Yes. However, there are many different types of mounting surfaces in which your products could be attached; such as concrete, wood, drywall, plaster, porcelain, steel, etc. Included in your purchase will be necessary installation materials for basic drywall installation.
